Moderate Trading in Edible BeansVANCOUVER - Apr 11/08 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were mostly unchanged in moderate trading activity during the past week, which saw fresh demand for new crop white alubia beans from Argentina and current crop black beans from China. The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1329, up two points from the previous week and compared to 971 at this time last year. The grower index finished down 15 points at 1148, about 95 points below its record high, but up from 893 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 77.2%, down 1.2 points from last week and down 4.9 points from this time last year.
