French Field Pea Exports Remain LowVANCOUVER - Apr 10/08 - SNS -- Field pea exports from France continued this season's downtrend in February, slipping almost 800 metric tons (MT) from month earlier levels but sinking 27.8% below the volume exported last year. Data from the Union Nationale Interprofessionnelle des Plantes Riches en Proteines (UNIP) revealed exporters shipped 16,750 MT of peas in February, down from 17,570 MT in January and down from the 23,215 MT of field peas shipped the same month last year. This lifted exports clearances so far during the 2007-08 marketing campaign to 142,670 MT, down 45% from the 259,605 MT shipped the first eight months of the previous marketing year.
