U.S. National Weekly Rice SummaryLITTLE ROCK - Apr 7/08 - SNS -- The latest weekly rice market summary for the United States was released by the USDA today.

Domestic shipment: Offers, fob mills, milled rice, spot prices, dollars
per cwt, bagged. (All milled rice grade No 2 not to exceed 4 percent brokens,
except California grade No 1. All second heads grade No 4 or better, second
head and brewers are bulk.)

Domestic Situation
Domestic milled rice price quotes were steady to higher in the south and in
California. By-products were uneven, mostly steady in the south and uneven in
California.
In the south, long grain rice prices were steady to 2.50 higher, quoted
mostly at 32.00-33.00; medium grain prices were 1.50-4.50 higher, quoted mostly
at 32.00-33.50; parboiled rice prices were steady to 2.50 higher, quoted mostly
at 33.00-35.00; second heads were steady; brewers were steady to 1.00 higher,
quoted mostly at 17.50-18.00. Rice by-products: Offers for rice bran were
unevenly 10.00 higher to 3.00 lower, mostly steady; millfeed was steady; hulls
were steady.
In California, medium grain milled rice prices were 1.00-1.50 higher; short
grain prices were 1.50-2.00 higher; second heads were steady to 1.00 higher;
brewers were 50 cents higher. Rice bran was unevenly 5.00 lower to 5.00 higher;
rice hulls were steady.
