World Ag Markets Await TendersCHICAGO - Apr 4/08 - SNS -- International agriculture commodity markets finished the week's trading on a relatively quiet note, but with continued announcements of tenders for the coming week pointing to an improving short term demand picture. Chicago grains and oilseeds firmed in overnight trade as soybeans strove to remain price competitive with corn in order to keep from losing land to the grain. May soybeans advanced 13 1/4 cents per bushel to finish the overnight session at U.S. $12.70 1/4. May corn lost 1 1/4 cents to finish at $5.98 3/4. May wheat advanced 3 1/2 cents to $9.40 1/2. European wheat futures were slightly easier in light trading interest, with the May contract for Paris wheat slipping Euros 1.75 to Euros 239.00 MT and November dropping Euros 4.25 to finish the week at Euros 211.75.
