U.S. Sweet Potato Area Rising
WASHINGTON - Mar 31/08 - SNS -- Planted area of sweet potatoes is estimated at 103,800 acres for 2008, up 3% from last year and 9% above 2006, according to this year's USDA seeding intentions estimates.
The increase in planted acres is reflective of increased soil moisture in the southeast region of the United States.
