Sugarbeet Area Under PressureWASHINGTON - Mar 31/08 - SNS -- Area planted to sugarbeets for the 2008 crop year in the United States is expected to total 1.13 million acres, 11% lower than the 2007 planted acreage, according to this year's USDA seeding intentions estimates. Intended plantings decreased from last year in all States except Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Minnesota and North Dakota, the two largest-producing States, also had the largest reductions in acreage of 54,000 and 35,000, respectively.
