Pork Keeps Red Meat Stocks UpWASHINGTON - Mar 20/08 - SNS -- Total red meat supplies in freezers rose 9.1 million pounds in February to 1,046 million pounds, up 9% from the previous year, notes the USDA in its latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Frozen pork supplies rose 33 million pounds during the month to 603.2 million pounds, up almost 120 million pounds from the previous year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 12% from last month at 79.4 million pounds and up 70% from last year. Supplies of beef were down 40 million pounds from year earlier levels at 418.3 million pounds, down around 27 million pounds from the previous month.
