U.S. Hop Stock Decline ContinuesWASHINGTON - Mar 20/08 - SNS -- Hop inventories dropped in the United States during the past year, falling 6% to 66.0 million pounds as of March 1, according to the USDA. March hop stocks have not been this low since March 1, 2000 when holdings were 64.5 million pounds. Stocks held by brewers, at 36.0 million pounds, were down 14% from a year ago and 8% less than March 1, 2006. Stocks held by growers and dealers on March 1, 2008 totaled 30.0 million pounds, 7% more than March 1, 2007 but unchanged from March 1, 2006.
