World Beans Hold FirmVANCOUVER - Mar 14/08 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets finished the week on a firm note despite relatively light trading conditions. The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1232, down one points from the previous week and compared to 976 at this time last year. The grower index finished up 3 points at 1142, about 100 points below its record high, but up from 868 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 82.9%, up 0.3 points from last week and up 3.4 points from this time last year.
