Lentils Close Week on Strong NoteVANCOUVER - Mar 7/08 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a generally stronger note, with green lentil markets outperforming reds. Short covering and technical squeezes pulled red lentil markets higher at the end of February, but as pressure eased grower bids posted solid declines in western Canada, allowing inter-dealer markets to ease. Green lentils continue to be supported by relatively good demand from Latin America and other destinations. Small green or Eston lentil trading continues to be reported to European destinations, while buyers in Latin America were more active in No 2 and No 1 grade large green or Laird lentil markets.
