Dairy Product Markets Mostly Firmer
WASHINGTON - Mar 7/08 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were generally firmer for the week closing March 1, shows this USDA sector report.
Cheddar Cheese prices received for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $1.99 per pound. The price per pound advanced 10.6 cents versus the previous week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $1.97 per pound, up $1.97 compared to last week.
Butter prices received for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.17 per pound. The U.S. price per pound dropped 1.9 cents compared to the previous week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices paid for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.24 per pound. The U.S. price per pound advanced $1.24 from the previous week.
