USDA Buys 5,750 MT of PulsesKANSAS CITY - Mar 5/08 - SNS -- The USDA's Commodity Credit Corporation office here confirmed the purchase of 5,750 metric tons (MT) of pulses for shipment as food aid. Under terms of USDA PL-480 food aid tender invitation 028, the pulses packed in 50 kg bags for shipment from interior plants between April 1 to April 22 and between April 23 to May 13 for plants located at port. In reporting results on the tender, the USDA said, "Due to a change in program requirements, 4,930 MT of Lentils (consolidation 428151-1) and 6,700 MT of Lentils (consolidation 428151-3) were not purchased."
