Markets Busy at Mid-WeekCHICAGO - Mar 5/08 - SNS -- International agriculture commodity markets were relatively busy at mid-week, helped by news of rice and corn export sales by India to neighboring countries. Early trading this morning on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) saw corn advance on strong gains in energy and metal futures and a rally in soybeans. That commodity finished overnight trade up 17 and a quarter cents at U.S. $15.38 per bushel on the May contract. May wheat jumped 19 cents overnight to $11.06 1/2. May corn rose 6 1/2 cents to $5.61 per bushel. European wheat futures were also firmer overnight, with yesterday's advances in Chicago wheat spilling over into Paris. Combined with increased Middle Eastern tender activity, that lifted May milling wheat contract Euros 2.25 higher to Euros 279.75 per metric ton (MT).
