Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 2/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary
Fire Weather Warning: Forest fire danger will be extreme in the Wimmera district
on Monday 3 March.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is drifting slowly eastwards. A
weakening cold front approaching from the west will  reach southwestern Victoria
late Monday, before sliding southeastwards. The next high pressure system will
pass south of the State on Tuesday before reaching the Tasman Sea on Wednesday.
Another cold front will approach southwestern Victoria later on Thursday.
Victoria
Monday:       Fine apart from morning fog patches in Gippsland and isolated
showers and thunderstorms developing in the southwest late in the day. A warm to
hot and mostly sunny day with generally light to moderate northerly winds, ahead
of a cooler southwest to southerly change extending from the southwest during
the afternoon and evening.
Fire Danger: Generally high to very high, reaching Extreme in the Wimmera.
UV Index:     7 [High] reducing to 5 [moderate] under cloud.
Tuesday:      Isolated showers in southern and mountain districts contracting
eastwards. Warm to hot in the north, but milder in the south.
Wednesday:    Fine apart from isolated clearing showers in Gippsland. Generally
warm.
