World Bean Markets Strengthen
VANCOUVER - Feb 22/08 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets continued to strengthen during the past week on tightening domestic stocks and relatively strong demand.
North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 1203, up four points from the previous week and compared to 906 at this time last year.
The grower index finished up 7 points at 1090, versus 836 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 81%, up 0.2 points from last week and down 2.1 points from this time last year.
