Birdseeds Maintain Bullish ToneVANCOUVER - Feb 22/08 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets maintained their bullish tone throughout the past week, with grower selling activity remaining behind the short term needs of the market. Canadian canaryseed markets traded higher, with grower bids advancing another cent a pound on the week, with bids ranging up CDN 30 cents per pound for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing bids and averaging 28.2 cents. New crop bids remain heavily discounting, ranging up to 22 cents per pound and averaging 21.75 cents. Confectionary sunflower bids were unchanged in the United States at 30 cents for larges and 20 cents for smalls on spot markets. New crop bids remain at a premium, with bids for larges ranging up to 35 cents a pound and smalls up to 22 cents. White proso millet markets were unchanged at 1.25 cents a pound to the grower and a nominal $12.25 per 100 pounds on inter-dealer markets.
