Seasonally Declining Fruit Stocks
WASHINGTON - Feb 22/08 - SNS -- Frozen fruit supplies dropped 98 million pounds in January to finish the month at almost 1,141 million pounds, up 12% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
Inventories of frozen juice rose 16% from the previous year and were 17% higher than the previous month at 1,260 million pounds.
Fresh apples stocks finished the month at 3,873 million pounds, up 1% from last year, and down from 18% the previous month. Pears rose 23% above year earlier levels, but dropped 24% during the month to 245.5 million pounds.
