Field Pea Markets SteadyVANCOUVER - Feb 15/08 - SNS -- North American field pea markets finished the week steady to firmer as international demand chased remaining supplies of North American product. Seeding of India's rabi season pulse crop now stands at 13.336 million hectares, down from 13.949 million last year. Most of the decline was in gram or chickpea area, which has fallen from 8.386 to 8.029 million MT. Rabi season wheat area is now complete at 27.731 million hectares, down from 28.214 million last year. Rabi season rice area now totals 3.41 million hectares, up from 3.241 million last year. Coarse cereals have been sown in 6.789 million hectares, down from 7.048 million at this time last year. Barley area totals 754,000 hectares and corn 1.035 million.
