Birdseed Ingredients Surge
VANCOUVER - Feb 15/08 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets matched the bullish tone on other specialty crop markets during the past week, finishing on a stronger note in both Canada and the United States.
Canadian canaryseed was sharply higher on both grower and inter-dealer markets.
Grower bids jumped CDN $2.50 cwt to finish at $29, but this remains well below the crop's historic high of $42 cwt for farmers dressed product delivered western Canadian processing plants reached in February of both 1994 and 2002.
