Australian Livestock Auction Action SlipsSYDNEY - Feb 8/08 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd declined during the past week on reduced lamb, sheep and cattle offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 31,123 sheep and lambs, versus 46,595 head during the previous week's auctions, and 2,056 head of cattle, compared to 4,760 last week. "Cattle throughput was static on last weeks low numbers . . . and for the near future there is no suggestion they should rise greatly," AuctionsPlus' Dean Lemmich said. "Values continued to rise today and it’s probably more noticeable when a line of 250 kg heifers makes $2/kg, but generally heifers were on a dearer trend with most feeder types making from 155c in the South to 175c in the North of NSW."
