AWB Closing First 2007-08 PoolSYDNEY - Feb 4/08 - SNS -- The Australian wheat marketing board, SWB Limited, is closed its Number 1 2007-08 National Pool to protect the financial equity of growers who have delivered to that Pool. The AWB Number 2 2007-08 National Pool is open across Australia's wheatbelt. AWB General Manager National Pool, David Johnson, said with harvest complete the Number 1 2007-08 National Pool had a total of approximately 4.3 million metric tons (MT) in wheat receivals, which is a good result in light of the drought. "We have maintained all the Estimated Pool Returns (EPRs) in the Number 1 and Number 2 2007-08 National Pools," Johnson said. "There have also been no changes to the 2006-07 National Pool EPRs. While world wheat prices were well supported in the past fortnight this has been offset by the rise in the Australian dollar." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
