Firm Finish in Bean MarketsVANCOUVER - Feb 1/08 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone against relatively good demand from Brazil and Argentina and tightening stocks in North America and Argentina. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 1169, up 24 points from the previous week and compared to 892 at this time last year. The grower index finished up 7 points at 1032, versus 824 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 79%, down 2.6 points from last week and down 3.6 points from this time last year.
