Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Feb 1/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of Victoria. A low pressure trough will develop over eastern Victoria on Saturday before drifting slowly westwards on Sunday. The trough will then deepen over western Victoria on Monday and will remain in the vicinity on Tuesday as a strong high pressure system moves well to the south of Tasmania. Victoria Saturday: Fine tonight apart from isolated showers in the east. Local morning fog in the south tomorrow, then fine until isolated showers and thunderstorms develop in the east during the afternoon. Warm and mostly sunny with light to moderate southeast to northeast winds. Fire Danger: Generally high, reaching very high in the northwest. UV Index: 10 [Very High] reducing to 6 [High] under cloud.
