Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 1/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Flood warning for the Warrego and Paroo Rivers. For the latest warning

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
High pressure will remain to the south of the continent for a number of days
with a broad trough of low pressure over the far west and off the NSW coast. The
trough off the coast is expected to move towards the coast overnight, with the
possibility of moderate to heavy showers along the coast. The broad inland
trough should drift east early next week and deepen. This pattern will maintain
a humid, unstable northeast to southeast airflow with increasing showers or rain
areas and isolated thunderstorms over most of the state.
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers and thunderstorms over western districts apart from the far
southwest. Scattered showers in the east, moderate to heavy at times near the
coast, with local thunder. Light to moderate northeast to southeast winds,
fresher near the coast.
Forecast for Sunday
Areas of rain or scattered showers. Isolated thunderstorms. Northeast to
southeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Areas of rain or scattered showers, more isolated in the far west. Isolated
thunderstorms. Northeast to southeast winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Areas of rain or scattered showers, more isolated in the far west. Isolated
thunderstorms. Northeast to southeast winds.
