Few Changes in ChickpeasVANCOUVER - Jan 25/08 - SNS -- International chickpea markets were little changed amid seasonally light trading conditions. Many kabuli chickpea end users are waiting for the Indian harvest to set the tone for the March and April period. While Indian product does not compete with Mexican origin to all destinations, it can set the tone for smaller caliber chickpea markets even though the quality is not considered as good. Total chickpea production in India during the current rabi or winter season is expected to be down from last year on account of a lower seeded area.
