Mixed Finish For BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Jan 25/08 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets posted a mixed finish on the week. Both Canadian canaryseed and U.S. origin white proso millet were sharply higher on the week, helped by limited grower selling and fear about the industry's ability to maintain area in 2008. Grower bids jumped from U,.S, $9 per 100 pounds (cwt) to $10 by week's end. Sunflower markets were mixed, with confectionary markets unchanged, and oil-type moving in line with soybean markets. As a result, oil-type sunflower was below week earlier trading levels most of the week, though they finished the week with a flourish.
