North American Potato Output UpWASHINGTON - Jan 22/08 - SNS -- Fall potato production in Canada and the United States is up 1% over last year at 519 million cwt (100 pound units), according to a joint release by the USDA and Statistics Canada. The U.S. fall potato production is estimated at 409 million cwt, virtually unchanged from the U.S. December forecast but up 3 percent from last year.
