Upper U.S. Midwest Organic Grain and Feedstuffs

DES MOINES - Jan 16/08 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the U.S. upper midwest.


Upper Midwest Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 1/12/2008

Organic grain and feedstuff prices steady to higher compared to
two weeks ago.  Coarse grain prices firm to 2.00 higher on
moderate offerings and good demand. Small grains steady to firm
on moderate offerings and good demand.  Alfalfa hay steady.
With the holidays a memory now, producers have come to the table.
Product moving at a brisk pace, with demand exceeding supply as
buyers continue the hunt for more organic grains.  Interest has
increased for contracting new crop product, especially for wheat
and soybeans.  Bids for new crop corn from $9.00 - $10.00, with
soybean bids from $21.00 - $23.00.  Monthly and 4rd quarter average
prices located below.  All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot
market.
