Firm Start For Field Peas
VANCOUVER - Jan 11/08 - SNS -- Field pea markets opened the new year on a relatively firm note, with inter-dealer markets in both Canada and the United States little changed.
Processors in the United States were encouraged by recent USDA purchases of 6.150 metric tons (MT) of product for January shipment from origin and a new tender seeking 3,460 MT of whole or split green and yellow peas.
Canadian markets were steady as demand from buyers remained in close balance with the quantity of peas growers were willing to sell.
