Australian Livestock Auction Action JumpsSYDNEY - Jan 11/08 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd rebounded during the past week on improved livestock offerings. Throughput for the week totalled 29,596 sheep and lambs, versus 5,102 head during the previous week's auctions, and 1,133 head of cattle, compared to 36 last week. "The holiday hiatus is slowly fading," AuctionsPlus' Dean Lemmich said. "Mutton prices continued to improve on pre-Christmas rates with additional processors now looking to fill orders. This increase has been assisted by buyers attempting to fill live export orders and producers looking to top up wethers to also sell into this market."
