Holiday Season Trading in BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Dec 21/07 - SNS -- International birdseed ingredient markets were generally quiet during the past week with buyers and sellers at an impasse over price in many parts of the world. Regional markets in the United States were largely unchanged, with white proso millet finishing the week unchanged at U,S. $9 per 100 pounds (cwt) at the grower levels. Confectionary sunflower unchanged at $30 for larges and $19 for farmers dressed small caliber sunflower seed. By contrast, oil type sunflower markets were firmer, closing at $20 cwt for deferred and new crop shipping positions, up 20 cents on the week.
