Canada's November Poultry Placements Rise
OTTAWA - Dec 21/07 - SNS -- Placements of hatchery chicks onto farms were estimated at 50.9 million birds in November, up 3.8% from November 2006, according to Statistics Canada.
This lifted calendar year to ate placements to 630 million birds, up 3.9% from last year.
Placements of turkey poults on farms increased 11.1% to 1.8 million birds, lifting calendar year to date placements to 20.7 million birds, up 3.13% from last year.
