Dairy Product Markets Strengthen
WASHINGTON - Dec 21/07 - SNS -- All major products in the U.S. dairy market finished the week ending December 15 higher than the previous week, judging from this USDA update on the sector.
Cheddar Cheese prices realized for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $2.14 per pound. The price per pound rose 1.0 cents versus the previous week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $2.12 per pound, up 4.1 cents compared to the previous week.
Butter prices obtained for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.32 per pound. The U.S. price per pound gained 0.3 cents from last week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices received for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.82 per pound. The U.S. price per pound gained $1.82 versus last week.
