Milk Output Up In November
WASHINGTON - Dec 18/07 - SNS -- Milk production rose 3.8% in November in the United Sttes to 13.8 billion pounds in the 23 major States, accordiong to the USDA,
October production, unrevised at 14.2 billion pounds, was up 4.1% from October 2006.
Production per cow in the 23 major States averaged 1,654 pounds for November, 40 pounds above November 2006.
The number of milk cows on farms in the 23 major States was 8.36 million head, 101,000 head more than November 2006, and 8,000 head more than October 2007.
