Mixed Finish on Birdseed MarketsVANCOUVER - Dec 14/07 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were mixed against a seasonal slow down in domestic trading activity. Oil type sunflower seed posted a strong performance during the week, with grower bids rising across the U.S. midwest against tightening supplies and underlying strength in oilseed markets. By contrast, confectionary sunflower seed markets were unchanged on the week, with current and new crop bids matching one another at 30 cents per pound for larges and 19 cents for smalls. White proso millet was nominally unchanged on the week, closing at nine cents per pound for farmers dressed merchandise delivered U.S. midwest processing plants.
