Dairy Product Markets Mainly Higher
WASHINGTON - Dec 14/07 - SNS -- Dairy product markets in the United States were generally stronger over the seven days finishing December 8, reveals today's USDA update on the sector.
Cheddar Cheese prices paid for US 40 pound Blocks averaged $2.13 per pound. The price per pound advanced 2.9 cents from last week. The price for US 500 pound Barrels adjusted to 38% moisture averaged $2.08 per pound, up 3.9 cents from last week.
Butter prices paid for 25 kilogram and 68 pound boxes meeting USDA Grade AA standards averaged $1.31 per pound. The U.S. price per pound dropped 0.4 cents versus the previous week.
Nonfat Dry Milk prices realized for bag, tote and tanker sales meeting USDA Extra Grade or USPH Grade A standards averaged $1.84 per pound. The U.S. price per pound dropped 1.3 cents compared to the previous week.
