Turkey Hatchery Advances in NovemberWASHINGTON - Dec 13/07 - SNS -- Turkey hatchery activity in the United States increased in November, according to the USDA. Turkey eggs in incubators on December 1, 2007 in the United States totaled 30.3 million, up 3% from December 1, 2006. Eggs in incubators were down 3% from the November 1, 2007 total of 31.1 million eggs. Regional changes from the previous year were: East North Central down 9% at 4,574,000; West North Central up 7% at 11,404,000; North and South Atlantic up 8% at 10,160,000; and South Central and West down slightly at 4,191,000 eggs in incubators. Turkey poults hatched during November 2007 in the United States totaled 25.8 million, up 8% from November 2006. Poults hatched were up slightly from October 2007.
