Malaysian CPO Output Slips in OctoberKUALA LUMPUR - Dec 9/07 - SNS -- Crude palm oil (CPO) production declined 1.4% to 1.58 million metric tons (MT) in October, but remained 13% above year earlier levels, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB). Output in Peninsular Malaysia rose 0.8% while East Malaysia's production dropped by 4%. As the palms enter a seasonal downturn phase, the U.S. agricultural attache for the country predicts CPO output will end up around 4.2 million MT for the Oct-Dec period, bringing total CPO production for calendar year 2007 to 15.4 million MT.
