U.S. Steady, Canadian Lentils SlipVANCOUVER - Dec 7/07 - SNS -- North American lentil markets managed a mixed finish on the week in the face of a seasonal decline in trading interest. This is normally reflected in a slow down in the pace of shipments from origin, with export clearances in the opening quarter of the calendar year normally below those registered in the closing quarter. This is clearly reflected in the recent export performance of Canadian origin lentils. During the previous three marketing years, exports averaged 200,346 metric tons (MT) between October and December, compared to 155,503 tons in the January through March period.
