Firm Finish For Field PeasVANCOUVER - Dec 7/07 - SNS -- Field pea markets finished the week's trading on a relatively firm note as grower markets for whole yellow peas established new record trading levels for current and new crop product. Processors confirmed paying up to CDN $340 per metric ton (MT) for farmers dressed Canadian whole yellow peas delivered interior processing plants. At the same time, 2008 crop bids were reported ranging up to $266 MT for both small and large yellow peas, an effective record bidding level for yellow peas which have yet to be grown in Canada.
