Canadian Egg Output Below 2006 Levels
OTTAWA - Dec 7/07 - SNS -- Total egg production in Canada remained below year earlier levels in October, according to Statistics Canada.
Egg production was estimated at 48.1 million dozen in October, down 0.9% from October 2006. Calendar year to date production is down 0.69% from last year at 480.1 million dozen.
Poultry meat production reached 104.3 million kilograms in October, up 8.2% from October 2006.
