Pecan Market Update for LouisianaBATON ROUGE - Dec 5/07 - SNS -- Pecan market conditions in the state of Louisiana are summarized in this report from the USDA. Provided by: Fruit and Vegetable Market News Federal-State Market News Service, USDA> Phone: (225) 922-1328 Fax: (225) 952-8034 BO_FV140 LOUISIANA PECANS Deliveries made by growers of Louisiana pecans were moderate. Demand was fairly light. Prices were steady. According to the Louisiana Agricultural Statistics Service, the statewide harvest completion rate was 85% on December 3, 2007. This compares to 80% last week and 77% a year ago. Prices paid to growers on Natives of generally good quality and condition cents per pound, in-shell in lots less than 1,000 lbs 45.
