Modest Hike in Australian PulsesVANCOUVER - Dec 3/07 - SNS -- Pulse crop production levels in Australia will be lower than initially expected but higher than thought in October, according to the latest crop production estimates from the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE). Output of all classes of pulses is now forecast at 1.312 million metric tons (MT), well up on last year's 796,300 MT harvest. Forecast production is down sharply from ABARE's September forecast of a 1.546 million MT crop, but up slightly from Pulse Australia's 1.3 million MT estimate in October.
