Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Dec 1/07 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary Nil. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments A high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough over the Bight will move eastwards, crossing Victoria during Sunday afternoon and Monday. A high pressure system will then develop over the Bight on Tuesday before moving near Tasmania during Wednesday. Victoria Sunday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west during the afternoon then reaching central districts at night. Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. A warm to hot day with moderate north to northeasterly winds, locally fresh at times in the morning. Fire Danger: Generally high to very high in the north, moderate to high in the south. UV Index: 12 [Extreme] decreasing to 8 [very high] under cloud. Monday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, more widespread in the east and gradually clearing from the west. Isolated showers to follow in the southwest. Warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a milder westerly change. Tuesday: Isolated showers in the south, mainly near the coast. Fine elsewhere. Warm in the north, milder in the south.
