Lentils Maintain Firm ToneVANCOUVER - Nov 16/07 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their firm tone under relatively light buying interest and continued holding by North American growers. Markets in the United States advanced on the week, helped by ongoing USDA PL-480 food aid demand. Processors are busy shipping against previous tenders and getting ready for the next week's regularly scheduled invitation, which is expected to again seek good volumes of lentils and field peas. The combination will help keep processing capacity heavily booked into the new year, making it tougher for the U.S. industry to pursue normal commercial demand.
