Edible Beans Drift in Light TradeVANCOUVER - Nov 16/07 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets were generally quiet in light trade during the past week, with modest buying interest allowing markets to drift lower. North America's spot market index for dry edible beans finished the week at 1121, down 10 points from the previous week and compared to just 852 at this time last year. Markets are 98 points shy of the record, which was set at 1219 in June of 1990. The grower index finished down four points at 988, versus 735 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 78.8%, down 0.5 points from last week and up 1.6 points from this time last year.
