Firm Tone in BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Nov 2/07 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets maintained their firm tone despite relatively light trading interest during the past week. Confectionary sunflower markets finished the week ranging up to U.S. 27 cents per pound at the grower level for large caliber seed on spot markets and 30 cents for delivery in the fall of 2008. Bids for small caliber seed was 19 cents in both and new crop shipping positions. New crop oil type sunflower seed markets are also sitting at a premium to spot, with North Dakota bids ranging up to 19 cents per pound. White proso millet seed markets in the United States finished unchanged at nine cents per pound on grower markets and nominally $9.75 per 100 pounds (cwt) on inter-dealer markets.
