China Re-enters World Bean MarketVANCOUVER - Nov 2/07 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets maintained their firm tone during the past week, with product available from origin sellers remaining just behind the needs of the market. Initial offerings of new crop dry edible beans from China are having little impact on world markets. Limited quantities of colored and medium caliber white beans were reported trading during the past week. Attitudes among most exporters are unaffected by China's first forays into markets because they believe there is a fundamental shortage of product on world markets. A greater concern is whether prices will reach levels which begin to ration pulse demand in general and particularly for dry edible beans.
