THOMASVILLE PECAN REPORT

PECANS - PRICES PAID TO GROWERS

Georgia (via Thomasville, Georgia)

Deliveries by growers were heavy. Demand was moderate for lots
suitable for giftpack, fundraising, in-shell and commercial uses.
Prices were lower due to increased supplies. As the reporting
period came to an end on Thursday, prices showed a still weaker
undertone. With favorable mild, dry weather, harvesting continued
to accelerate in South and Middle Georgia during the reporting
period. Accumulation buying points report an increase to heavy
amounts from yard tree nuts. Most deliveries of Improved
varieties during the period were of the Desirable variety with
significant deliveries of Stuarts and Schley and few Cape Fear,
which were mostly of fair quality. Several other varieties,
including Elliott and Moneymaker, are being harvested mostly as
blends, which are also increasing in number.

Buying interest displayed by end users was moderate for the lots
suitable for giftpack, fundraising, in-shell and commercial uses.
Trading was moderate. Transactions reported for Improved

appropriate unit count. Buyers for giftpack and fundraising uses

smaller lots late in the reporting period as low as $2.25 per
