Canada's Poultry Placements Continue RiseOTTAWA - Oct 26/07 - SNS -- Placements of hatchery chicks dropped from month earlier levels in September, but remained above year earlier numbers, according to Statistics Canada. Placements onto farms were estimated at 57.6 million birds in September, up 5.4% from September 2006. Placements of turkey poults on farms increased 8.0% to 2.1 million birds.
